  1. Respect the ice.
  2. Do not go onto the ice if you cannot swim.
  3. Stay on safe ice. Avoid areas where you should know that the ice is weak.
  4. Show particular caution on autumn ice, snow-covered ice and spring ice.
  5. Use all of your senses when you are crossing the ice.
  6. Do not go onto the ice alone.
  7. Bring proper and adequate safety equipment.
  8. If you go through the ice, do not panic.
  9. If others go through the ice, keep your distance.
