Årlifoss Power Plant was the very first power plant of the Skienfjord’s municipal power company, which in 2001 was merged with Vestfold Kraft and subsequently merged into Skagerak Energi AS.
Four generators were in operation up to 1989, when a new station with one generator was completed on the east side of the river. In 2003, the work on reinforcing and extending the flooding capacity of the dam was completed. At the same time, a carriageway was added to the dam. The waterfall height is 16.2 metres.

The power plant contains a Kaplan turbine with an installed output of 22 MW. Annual production is at 131 GWh.
