The power plant was commissioned in 1981 and it gets its water from the Kvina watercourse. A generator with associated Francis turbine is installed in the plant. The installed output is 80 MW. The waterfall height is 116 metres.

The production at Kvinen Power Plant is closely linked to the production at Roskrepp Power Plant further up the watercourse. Roskrepp’s main production period is in the wintertime, which in practical terms means that Kvinen also produces the most during that season.
