Skagerak Kraft wants to develop two small-scale power plants in Nissedal, Telemark county. The power plants will give a power production equivalent to the consumption of 550 households. Skagerak Kraft has applied for a licence to build two small-scale power plants located in Håtveitåi in Fjone, Nissedal municipality.

Støyldalen Power Plant will produce about 8 GWh/year in an average year, which is equivalent to the power consumption of approx. 400 households. Klovefoss Power Plant will have the capacity to produce about 5 GWh/year, which is equivalent to the power consumption of approx. 250 households. The development costs for Støyldalen are estimated to be approx. NOK 37 million, and for Klovefoss, approx. NOK 20 million.
Støylsdalen
On 7 December 2016, the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE) granted a licence for Støyldalen Power Plant. The decision was appealed, and the case is now with the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy for final consideration.
Klovefoss
On 7 December 2016, the NVE denied the licence application for Klovefoss Power Plant. Skagerak prepared an application for a plan change in cooperation with the landowners, which was subsequently submitted to the NVE in winter 2017. After its consideration, the NVE granted a licence for Klovefoss Power Plant on 22 June 2017. This decision has also been appealed and is now with the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy for final consideration.
